The small town of Conil is fast becoming popular with summer tourists and there are also people buying Conil property. However, it is still a typical Andalucian town with narrow cobbled streets, tapas bars and an open air market at weekends and pavement cafes around the main plazas. Conil is well known for its seafood restaurants. Try the ortiguillas (deep fried sea anemones), which you can only find in the Cadiz area and for a really reasonable meal check out the bar restaurant Pena Federata de Caza on the road uphill towards Barbate. The beaches of Conil are in three sections: La Fontinilla near the town Paseo Maritimo Fuente del Gallo backed by cliffs to the north of the town. Calas de Roche numerous coves to the north, difficult access to some, make them quiet except for summer weekends.
Conil is situated on the Atlantic coast, in the province of Cadiz, in the south of Andalucia. Its coastline forms part of the Costa de la Luz. It is a typical white village with a long maritime history. Its privileged location, between pine woods and the sea shore make it a popular choice for holiday makers and people looking for conil property. Conils mild climate, with over 3200 hours of sunshine annually is a major attraction, as is the gastronomy, the friendly atmosphere, the wonderful beaches and the variety of activities available.
